Have you ever wanted to pretend to be a wooly mammoth and then slide down a snowy slope whilst trapped in a giant block of ice? Well here is your chance. Slide past igloos, penguins, and snow-covered trees, while hoping over other ice cubed mammoths and try to be the first mammoth through the checkpoints. There is no need to defrost your vehicle, or mammoth before this race.
The game premise is very simple. All the player has to do is jump over the other mammoths and jump to prevent the other mammoth from passing him or her. Occasionally, the ground shifts backward, giving the player in last place a chance to catch up. The mammoth that is in first position the longest, or at least in first place at the most check points, wins the race. The game gets more difficult with each level. One impressive aspect of the game is that each mammoth has its own special abilities and handicaps. Some mammoths can jump higher than others, while other mammoths have more speed and power. The player must adjust to each mammoth in order to conquer Championship Mode. There are two other modes in the game, Challenge Mode and Four Player Mode. In Challenge Mode, the player needs to pass the most check points in a row to win. In Four Player Mode, the player is allowed to choose which four mammoths race, but other than that, it is exactly like challenge mode.
Even though there are slight variations between the different game modes there are times when the action is too monotonous. The challenge is there, but after a while the game becomes a bit boring. Nothing new is added. Just slide down the hill. Also, there is no music to stimulate the player. The only sound is that of a mammoth sliding through the snow and the chime of a bell at each check point. The background is a little sparse, with mostly pure blue and white. A little more color and sound would definitely add to the excitement of the game.
Hints and Tips:
Figure out not only what your mammoth's abilities are, but also the other mammoth's abilities early in the race. For example: if you know a certain racer cannot jump high, then he will be easier to block and you can spend less time defending his attacks.
Figure out when it is easier to pass under a mammoth or over a mammoth. This will vary depending on who you are racing.
